Addiction
I chose to create my blog based around addiction (primarily substance abuse), this is an interest of mine for many reasons. From a young age I was intrigued on how addiction and substance abuse affects individuals, families and communities. I come from a family with addiction on both sides and have decided to make it my career to help others save themselves from this disease. My major is Community Health Studies and my minor is psychology. I plan on using my degree to successfully build a career in Substance Abuse Counseling.
About me: I have a lot of interests such as music, art and fashion. My blog will focus around addiction, but I will also make it personal by adding things personal to me such as art!
I think this is a great topic. Do you plan to work in a hospital? Do you plan to work with young adults, teens, or middle age adults?
ReplyDeleteAddiction is a very intense topic for many reasons. There are so many different types of addiction. I have lost family members from addiction, including my own father. It is a horrible thing to watch and deal with as an individual who is the addict and also the people who they are around. You can take this topic far and find very interesting facts and information about it. Good luck in your research.
ReplyDeleteYou chose a great topic. There are so many people who have an addiction to something. I have an aunt who has an alcohol addiction. She is very dependent on alcohol and has to have a drink almost everyday. She does try to drink, but somehow always goes back to it once she stops for a certain time.
ReplyDeleteSusie, I think the topic you chose is interesting. I work at a hospital and we see a lot of patients who struggle with addiction problems. It is hard to watch people suffer especially when they know they need help. I think a lot of people who struggle with addiction don't even know they have a problem which is the sad part.
